Investigators were on scene at the Clearwater River yesterday after finding two bodies on a boat.
Wood Buffalo RCMP says a passerby first noticed the boat about 80 kilometres east of Fort McMurray at about 8 a.m. yesterday. The boat was tied up with the inboard motor running. Police say the witness called RCMP after spotting the boat in the same spot, and still running at about 2 p.m.
Police made their way to the river and found two men dead on the boat. Phoenix Heli-Flight rushed a third person to an Edmonton hospital. Cpl. George Cameron says they may have suffered carbon monoxide poisoning from a heater on board.
Cameron says the last time police updated the file was last night, and the condition of the man rushed to hospital is unknown.
