U.S. environmental groups threaten Keystone XL lawsuit

Four major U.S. environmental groups are launching a lawsuit to try and stop the Keystone XL oilsands pipeline from being built.
The Sierra Club, National Wildlife Federation, Natural Resources Defence Council, and Nebraska Wildlife Federation say the Obama administration has not done enough to study potential impacts of the pipeline on endangered species.
They say the State Department’s assessment of the project was too narrow.
The lawsuit will only go through if the U.S. government approves the project.
