UPDATED: Person pepper sprayed at RBC, heavy RCMP activity on MacDonald Island Drive

At about 3:30 p.m., Wood Buffalo RCMP received a call about the use of pepper spray at the RBC branch on Manning Avenue.

According to early scanner reports one person was treated by EMS.

The suspect is a lone black male, about six feet tall, he was wearing a dark blue jacket with a fur hood with dark pants and a mask covering his face.

It is still unknown whether the suspect stole anything from the victim, or if the attack happened inside or outside of the bank.

RCMP were not able to provide any details or information.

Mounties were searching for a duffle bag on Prairie Loop Boulevard in connection to the assault according to reports, it is not known at this time what was in the bag.

Nearly four hours later around 7:00 p.m., heavy police activity was noticed adjacent to the apartment towers on MacDonald Island road.

The road was blocked off, as listeners reported seeing numerous police cars and officers with their weapons drawn

It is not clear if the incidents at MacDonald Island drive and the RBC branch are connected.
