The Wildrose Party is calling on the premier to remove MLA Mike Allen from a government committee.
In a release from the party’s Environment and Utilities critic Joe Anglin, he says that Alison Redford has failed to show leadership by not removing Allen from his position as chair and member of the Conflicts of Interest Act Review Committee.
The committee is responsible for legislation that monitors the ethical conduct of MLAs, and had a meeting today where Allen was represented by his Deputy Chair, Calgary-Hawkwood MLA Jason Luan.
But Anglin says that having Allen as the official chair of the committee impedes the work of the other MLAs looking to improve what Anglin calls the province’s weak conflicts of interest legislation.
