The Opposition leader says that lower energy prices are going to cost Albertans. Wildrose Party leader Danielle Smith says that some of the premier’s election promises will have to be broken, because of declining oil prices.

She also says the provincial government is too dependent on oil prices to help them balance the books.

Premier Alison Redford says that the government is not going to let the lower cost of crude affect their budget plans too much, and still predicts a billion-dollar surplus in 2013-14.

Smith says that the province is faced with a three billion dollar deficit this year.
