The opposition Wildrose party is condemning the new land use plan for the region as another blow to property rights.
Justice critic Shayne Saskiw says it’s a centralized planning approach.
Sustainable Resource Development critic Pat Stier says he’s worried about the other regional plans, which’ll affect more individual landowners.
He says if the government is managing to cancel leases for oil sands companies, it’s unlikely farmers and ranchers are going to be able to stand up to them.
