A worker was found dead this morning at the Athabasca Water Treatment Plant.

Occupational Health and Safety says he was drilling panels at a water holding tank in plant number one, when at some point he fell in.

His shift ended at 5:30 last night, and his dead body was found at 8:15 this morning.

The site has been secured by OHS and RCMP, and there’s a stop work order on the plant.

Bird Construction is the company handling the upgrading of the plant, but OHS doesn’t know who the dead worker’s employer was yet.
