National Geographic is shining the spotlight on the oil sands in their August issue. The magazine examines Enbridge’s proposed Northern Gateway pipeline that would take oil from Edmonton to British Columbia.
The article quotes a local wildlife guide as saying “we don’t want another Exxon Valdez on our shores.”
The article highlights environmental objections to the pipeline coming from organizations in B.C.
Enbridge says they’re disappointed that the magazine didn’t use the information on pipeline safety that was given to them.
