Quebec doesn't want a national energy strategy

Just days after the nation’s energy ministers met in Kananaskis to create a new national energy plan, Quebec is already objecting.

Quebec’s natural resources Minister says, quote, “Quebec doesn’t want a federal energy strategy.” Nathalie Normandeau fears it would mean federal interference in a provincial responsibility.

Quebec isn’t the only province raising issues after the conference — Ontario won’t agree to call the oil sands “responsible” or “sustainable.”
