Sherman seeks Liberal Party leadership

A former MLA for the Progressive Conservative party has thrown his hat into the ring for the leadership of the provincial Liberal Party.

Edmonton-Meadowlark MLA Raj Sherman says that he’s hoping for a big change in the political landscape. He says that there is too much dischord in the Legislature.

He says that the Progressive Conservative Party is in trouble because they’re so divided on issues including health care and education.

Sherman says if chosen to lead the Liberals, he wants to make the party appeal to more people in the province, rather than just people in Calgary in Edmonton.

There are five candidates for the leadership. The new leader of the Liberal Party will be selected September 10th.
