A group of U.S. scientists is trying to stop approval of the Keystone XL pipeline.Nineteen researchers from Princeton, Harvard, and Columbia universities, as well as other organizations, have sent a letter to President Barack Obama, urging him not to approve the pipeline extension.
Keystone XL would take bitumen from the oil sands and deliver it to U.S. gulf coast refineries.
