The provincial government is tapping a local non-profit director to help improve not-for-profits across Alberta.
United Way of Fort McMurray Executive Director Diane Shannon has been appointed as one of ten not-for-profit representatives on a new province-wide committee – the Alberta Nonprofit/Voluntary Sector Initiative Collaboration Committee.
“I think they really know that we do have some different challenges up here,” she said.
“So I think we can be a strong voice and support for non-profits, particularly in the north, but across the whole province.”
The ten representatives will work with twelve government representatives to find solutions to challenges in the not-for-profit sector.
