Oil sands project behind schedule

A new oil sands project is behind schedule.

Harvest Energy’s Black Gold project near Conklin was supposed to drill its steam-assisted gravity drainage wells in the third quarter of this year.

But rising costs and weather have put the project behind schedule.

The project is supposed to produce ten thousand barrels per day when it starts in 2013, and eventually expand to thirty thousand per day.

The company says it’s “evaluating possibilities” to keep the project on schedule.
