The Wildrose Alliance Party says it’s continuing to grow.
The party announced today that it now has more than 25,000 active members, and raised more than a hundred thousand dollars over the last week – a new fundraising record.
“This type of growth has not been witnessed since Peter Lougheed was forming the [PC] Party in 1971,” says Fort McMurray–Wood Buffalo MLA Guy Boutilier.
“This is unprecedented,” he says.
An Environics poll released late last month showed the party losing momentum, with just sixteen percent support compared to fifty-four percent for the governing Progressive Conservatives.
