Crime in the municipality is on a downswing.
Wood Buffalo RCMP announced their 2010 statistics today, showing a five percent drop in overall crime.
Most major crimes fell – from violent crime, to property crime.
There were large drops in breaking and entering, as well as car thefts – both dropped by about thirty percent.
There were more reports of drug crimes in 2010, but the RCMP says that’s because of more proactive policing, not more criminal activity.
