Two Canadian actresses arrested in DC for anti-Keystone XL protests

Actress Tantoo Cardinal says she is sickened by the havoc she says the oilsands have wrought on northern Alberta. The Anzac-born Cardinal, along with fellow actress Margot Kidder were arrested yesterday outside of the White House where they were protesting against TransCanada’s proposed Keystone XL pipeline.

A group called Tar Sands Action is behind the two-week campaign against plans to build the pipeline through seven US states.
