An editorial in the Calgary Herald has pointed out something that Fort McMurrayites already know — that housing here is the most expensive in the province.
The article says that the average price of a single-family home in Calgary this year is at $407,500, which is significantly less than the projected $589,000 a home in Fort McMurray is expected to sell for this year.
CMHC forecasts for the rest of Alberta: Edmonton, $329,000; Red Deer, $266,000; Grande Prairie, $257,000; Medicine Hat, $253,000; and Lethbridge, $250,500.
