A quarter of Canadian adults at risk of getting COPD

A new study says that 25 percent of adults over the age of 35 are at risk of getting a serious lung disease known as COPD by the age of 80.

Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease is the fourth-leading cause of death in Canada, after cancer, heart disease, and stroke.

Experts say that other than smoking, the main causes of the disease include on-the-job exposure to fumes and smoke.
