The Public School District is looking forward to changes being made now that there is a new premier. Superintendent Dennis Parsons says that he hopes that any cuts made to education funding can be reversed quickly. Premier-designate Alison Redford had said that if chosen to lead the party, then cuts would be reversed within 10 days.

“I was very pleased to hear Alison speak those words.” said Parsons. “Restoring funding to education is a very positive sign. Premier Redford has said that education is a core value. As a society, if we were to ask ourselves, ‘What are our core values?’ Hopefully education is one of them.”

The funding cuts were made last year, causing the Public board, and its Catholic counterpart to tighten their belts with the budgets for this school year.
