Conviction to be appealed with new evidence being obtained

A Fort McMurray man who was convicted of murder in 2008 is now appealing his conviction. The Edmonton Sun is reporting that new testimony has been obtained by the courts, after Dax Richard Mack was convicted in the shooting death of his roommate, who died in 2002.

Initially, there had been testimony from a witness, that he and Mack were alone together while driving back from Edmonton, when Mack had allegedly admitted to killing his roommate.

There is now testimony from a female witness, saying she was in the vehicle with them, and did not hear any such confession.
