Catholic Board support staff agree to new contract

Support staff at local Catholic schools have a new contract, less than a month after voting to join the Canadian Union of Public Employees.

They voted 97% in favour of the new deal, which includes a new arbitration process, dues deduction for the union, and the continuation of  4.53% wage increases.

The deal is based on an existing agreement with the old staff association that runs until 2012, but does contain some changes like the new dispute settlement process.
