Fort McMurray man sentenced to 14 years for trafficking

The Edmonton Sun is reporting that a Fort McMurray man has been sentenced to just under 6 more years in prison for being involved in a drug ring.

38 year old Jeffery Caines was arrested in December 2006 as part of the RCMP’s Project Koker.

He pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to traffic cocaine and one count of possession of the proceeds of crime.

He was given credit for the 96 and a half months he spent in pre-trial custody and sentenced to an additional 71 months in prison.
