Oil Barons return to national rankings

The Canadian Junior Hockey League has ranked the Fort McMurray Oil Barons as the #16 junior A team in Canada.

The Barons returned to the rankings after being dropped entirely last week following a 2-0 loss to the Spruce Grove Saints.

The Barons followed up that loss with a 5-0 shutout of previously-ranked Bonnyville, a 5-2 win over the Olds Grizzlys, and an 8-2 win over the Drumheller Dragons.

It’s the second-highest ranking for the Barons this year. Fort McMurray opened the year as the #4 team in the country, but dropped to #17 after a loss to the last-place Canmore Eagles.
