4,000 plus register to speak on Northern Gateway pipeline

More than 4,000 people have registered to speak at hearings about the proposed Northern Gateway pipeline.

The pipeline would ship oil sands crude to supertankers on the B.C. coast at the port of Kitimat.

Opponents of the 5.5 billion dollar project are hoping all the public interest will pressure the feds not to give it the green light.

A federal review panel will start hearing oral statements in January and make a recommendation by the end of next year.
