RCMP investigate theft from SPCA

On November 25, 2011, Wood Buffalo RCMP were called to the Fort McMurray SPCA (Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) to investigate a break and enter that occurred sometime during the previous night. Unknown subjects gained access to the SPCA’s outdoor compound by cutting through two fences. From this locked compound thieves made off with approximately $2000 worth of recyclables.
The SPCA reported that the organization relies heavily on the donations of recyclables to cover operating costs. Police continue to investigate and are asking for the assistance of the general public in identifying suspects in this occurrence.
