The Fort McMurray Oil Barons trimmed their roster by one on the December 1st cutdown date.
The Barons released 20-year old forward Matt Koebel; bringing their roster down to 24 players, although the limit is 25.
The MOB was, however, carrying 10 20-year old players, one more than league rules allow them to dress in a game.
After the acquisition of Cole Penner, GM Gord Thibodeau had said one 20-year old would eventually have to be moved.
Koebel had scored 3 goals and 3 assists in 26 games this year.
In his first full season last year, the Edmonton-native scored 19 points in 50 games.
