Confed bus lane gets some fine-tuning adjustments

The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo has passed a couple changes to the Confederation Way bus lane.

Last night, council passed an amendment that as of Thursday, will allow vehicles that are designed to hold nine or more passengers, rather than 15.

The time the bus lane is in effect will also change tomorrow. The lane will be restricted to buses only between 5:45-7:45 a.m., seven days a week.

“Public feedback, transit coordination meetings, and bus lane traffic pattern monitoring, have resulted in an adjustment to the lane utilization.” said Public Infrastructure divisional manager Wes Holodniuk. “These modifications will continue to be assessed and monitored, and further changes will be made as warranted.”
