Thompson seeks PC candidacy

Another hopeful has put his name forward for a chance to be an MLA. Public School Board chair Jeff Thompson announced he’ll be seeking the nomination for the Progressive Conservative Party for the Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo riding. He says as a long-time resident, he feels he can help the community thrive.

Thompson adds that the region would benefit with having a government MLA.

He says that running against incumbent MLA Guy Boutilier, who will be running for the seat with the Wildrose, will be no easy task.

Last month, Wood Buffalo councillor Don Scott put his name forward for the PC nomination for the new riding of Fort McMurray-Conklin.
