Community rings in the New Year at the Craze

Energy and excitement were in abundance as the Fort McMurray community rang in the New Year at the Craze presented by Fort McMurray Realtors on Saturday at MacDonald Island Park.

The annual free family-oriented New Year’s Eve extravaganza was a tremendous success, as thousands of attendees came through the doors at the Suncor Community Leisure Centre. The action-packed day began with the complementary Nexen Pancake Breakfast and culminated with a choreographed fireworks display. Overall, the Craze was highlighted by 20 events and activities designed for people of all ages.

“The Craze is one of the best days of the year at MacDonald Island,” said Tim Reid, Chief Operating Officer at MacDonald Island Park. “The buzz in the building today was incredible, and we’re honoured to do our part to deliver a memorable New Year’s Eve experience to our community.”

MacDonald Island Park would like to thank its numerous community partners without which the Craze would not have been successful.

The latest addition to the Suncor Community Leisure Centre, the Legacy Wall presented by Don Scott’s McMurray Law Office is a visual, interactive display that will act as a living, digital history of MacDonald Island Park. The public is invited to visit the Legacy Wall and to upload their images to the upload website.
