Just one impaired driver was arrested and charged over this past weekend, as RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs held checkstops in the region.
Several provincial violation tickets were also issued between December 31st and January 1st. Another driver was issued a 24-hour suspension.
Police say if you see a suspected impaired driver, you should call 911 safely to report them.
