New housing in Wood Buffalo went up for the month of December.
The Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation says housing starts were up almost fourteen percent compared to December of last year.
New single-detached homes went down from 58 to 45, but there were 21 new multiple family homes compared to zero last year.
The year end numbers showed new housing up 1.4 percent for 2011 compared to 2010.
A six-and-a-half percent drop in single-detached homes was made up for by almost twenty-four percent more multiple-family developments.
