Canadians could soon be protected against a meningitis strain that’s believed to be responsible for the deaths of two BC teens last year.
Infectious disease specialist Dr Taj Jadavji says the American Medical Association has confirmed a Meningitis B vaccine is in the works, but it depends on how quickly the government approves it.
Meningitis B is often mistaken for the flu, and is responsible for 82 percent of cases in children, and 68 percent of cases in teens.
