Kevin Lacroix scored only 20 seconds into the game; and before the 10 minute mark was passed, Mike Puddifant and Justin Rose also potted goals to chase Storm goaltender Patrick Terriss.

The Barons put three more goals past rookie backup Curtis Skip, twice from captain Carson Cooper and once from Mitchell Board.

Board, who had been injured and was not originally expected to play either game on the weekend, added three assists for a four-point night and was named Country 93.3’s First Star of the game.

Storm captain Mitch Neumeier was the only player to beat MOB goalie Brody Hoffman, who saved 30 other G.P. shots for his first playoff win.

1,411 fans were in attendance to catch the Barons’ 16th straight win against Grande Prairie; a more than two-year long streak.

Game 2 is Sunday night at 8:00 PM at the Casman Centre.

Pre-game coverage starts at 7:45 on Country 93.3.
