All Kearl shipments to arrive by summer

Imperial Oil tells the Calgary Herald that all its shipments to the Kearl project should be finished by summer, weather-permitting.

The final megaloads left for Fort McMurray from Lewiston, Idaho last week, while about 100 modules still have to be shipped from the port of Pasco in Washington state.

The company says the project is now 90 percent complete and is still on track to start up by the end of the year.

Imperial says it still doesn’t plan to build an upgrader at Kearl, but will use a patented process to dilute bitumen to ship by pipeline to refineries across North America.
