Local doctor joins call for intimidation inquiry

Doctors in the province are calling on the government to hold an inquiry into doctor intimidation.

Five representatives from the Alberta Medical Association accused the government of stonewalling on the issue this past weekend.

One of them was local doctor Sandra Corbett.

Local MLA Guy Boutilier says he’s on her side.

“I do know numerous doctors who have been intimidated locally, in Fort McMurray,” he said. “And I think that’s one of the reasons why one of our own doctors is speaking out, because she’s seen it firsthand, and I really welcome and applaud her courage in representing doctors and also patients.”

The AMA represents all seventy-two hundred doctors in the province.
