Alberta Progressive Conservative MLAs will return some, but not all, of the money they were paid for sitting on a committee that hasn’t met in nearly four years.
Tory Whip Robin Campbell says they will repay $6,000 each – six months’ worth, dating back to when Alison Redford took over as premier.
Committee members have been earning $1,000 a month for sitting on the committee which last met in 2008.
Liberal Leader Raj Sherman called the move a “slap in the face” to Albertans.
He says he has paid back more than 43-thousand dollars, including interest.
Wildrose MLAs, including Fort McMurray-Wood Buffalo representative Guy Boutilier, have also paid back the money they got.
