RCMP investigate shooting downtown

On March 27th, 2012 at approximately 2:30 AM, Wood Buffalo RCMP were called to the Northern Lights Regional Health Center after receiving a report of a male suffering from a gun shot wound to the shoulder. Police investigators determined that the involved shooting had occurred around 2:00 AM, at a residence on Hill Drive which is located in Downtown Fort McMurray.

The victim was confronted in his residence by two Caucasian males and was shot once in the shoulder. The two suspects then stole a safe from the residence and fled the scene on foot.

The 25 year old male victim was treated and released from hospital a few hours later. Wood Buffalo RCMP continue to investigate this incident and believe that this was not a random attack, but rather a targeted one.
