PC leader Alison Redford says the Wildrose Party might scrap a study into the health effects of oil sands mining on local aboriginal groups.

The Aboriginal Peoples Television Network reports that leaders in the Fort Chipewyan and Fort McKay first nations are worried that a change in government could result in cancellation of the health study that they’ve fought for years to get.

The first nations are currently running the study, looking into elevated cancer rates north of Fort McMurray.
