Mayor Melissa Blake says she’s looking forward to the race to succeed new MLAs Don Scott and Mike Allen on municipal council.
She says she doesn’t think two new voices will upset what’s been a very agreeable council.
“I think it’s going to be a good shot in the arm for us,” she says. “It’s going to make us step back and rethink some of the ideas and things that we’ve executed.”
But she also says it’s been a uniquely harmonious and united council this time around; something that Allen and Scott had a lot to do with.
“I am so much more invigorated by having collaboration and cooperation and clear unity in direction that we want to pursue,” she says.
“Honestly, it’s been wonderful.”
Council will discuss the byelection next month; it’ll likely be held in June.
