Jim Boucher is back as chief of the Fort McKay first nation.
He was granted a stay by the Federal Court after appealing the decision that stripped him of the title.
His challenger in last year’s election, Cecilia Fitzpatrick, challenged the result after losing by one vote.
The stay will keep Boucher in office at least until his appeal hearing in June.
