TransCanada reapplies for Keystone XL approval

TransCanada Corporation has reapplied for a presidential permit for their controversial Keystone XL pipeline.

The American government initially rejected the application for the project, because the pipeline was originally planned to go through what turned out to be an environmentally sensitive area of Nebraska.

The pipeline would carry oilsands crude from Hardesty, Alberta to refineries on the Gulf Coast of Texas.

The Keystone XL requires approval from the US State Department, because it crosses the Canada-US border.
