Fort McMurray–Conklin MLA Don Scott will likely be named to the provincial cabinet this afternoon.
The CBC is reporting that one of the city’s two MLAs will receive a junior post; sources say it would be Scott who is moved to the front bench.
Scott was elected after serving just under two years on Wood Buffalo municipal council.
He would be the first Fort McMurray-area cabinet minister since 2008, when Guy Boutilier was Aboriginal, Intergovernmental, and International Relations Minister.
The cabinet will be announced at 1:30 today.
