Sustainable Resource Development has raised the wildfire risk in the region from low to high.
But it says there are no wildfires active in the Waterways district right now.
SRD says the Fort McMurray region didn’t see any new fires start from unattended campfires over the long weekend, unlike southern Alberta.
The wildfires south of the city and near Highway 63 are all classified as being held or under control.
