Wood Buffalo Communities in Bloom is shifting their focus to local businesses this year.
At last night’s city council meeting, Jennifer Vincent introduced the Businesses in Bloom program. She says that they’re hoping that the commercial sector will take the time to clean up their properties and beautify their storefronts.
Vincent says that could include providing proper recepticals for garbage, recycling, and cigarette butts. Other efforts mentioned are cleaning parking lots and fencelines, hanging flower baskets, and removing graffiti immediately.
She says it will help exhibit community pride, and could also improve the image of the municipality and enhance tourism.
