Charges laid after altercation, collision in Timberlea

RCMP have laid charges after responding to simultaneous complaints in Timberlea. Police were en route to a collision between an SUV, a parked sedan, and a pedestrian around 8:45 Friday evening.

The 50-year-old driver of the SUV was seen in a physical altercation with a 32-year-old female passenger while the vehicle was in motion.

The 45-year-old male pedestrian was taken to the Northern Lights Hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries, and was then airlifted to Edmonton for further treatment.

The passenger of the SUV was treated for minor injuries.

The SUV driver, Gregory Johnson, was arrested and charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle causing bodily harm, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and assault. Speed and alcohol are considered factors in the collision.
