Tatum & Burton take by-election

Businesswoman Colleen Tatum and lawyer Christine Burton will be the two latest councillors in Wood Buffalo.

The two came out on top in a close by-election race, edging out Keith McGrath, Tyran Ault, Robert Parmenter, and Matt Youens.

Tatum finished first overall with 1,301 votes, while Burton was a close second with 1,162.

Eight other candidates were in the running.

Stephen Drover won a three-way race for the open Public School Board trustee spot with 1,042 votes.

The by-election results will be made official on Friday, June 29th. Tatum and Burton will be sworn in ahead of the council meeting on Tuesday, July 10th.
