Environmental groups are trying to force the Alberta government to prove it’s actually following old recommendations to reduce the impact of new oilsands projects.
The Oilsands Environmental Coalition is asking the panel reviewing Shell’s Jackpine expansion to check the status of recommendations by previous panels.
The Pembina Institute says there’s no proof any of those 108 recommendations were actually followed by companies.
