Kent says report won't change gov't pipeline stance
Federal environment minister Peter Kent says the government isn’t going to jump ship on the Northern Gateway pipeline because of how Enbridge handled a spill in Michigan.
NDP leader Thomas Mulcair has said a U.S. report that criticized Enbridge for how it responded to a spill in the Kalamazoo River two years ago should mean the end of Northern Gateway.
But Kent says pipelines are still the safest way by far to transport petrochemicals.
