Redford to spend $84k on Olympic trip

Premier Alison Redford is under fire for scheduling a pricey trip to the London Olympics.

The Premier, two cabinet ministers, and three staff are flying to the games and charging taxpayers 84 thousand dollars.

The opposition Wildrose says that’s about 50 thousand more than they could spend if they didn’t use five-star hotels and took cheaper flights.

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation says it’s probably the worst time to go to London since officials are focused on the Games, not on trade with Alberta.
