Vandals smash bus windows, set 2 on fire

Wood Buffalo RCMP have confirmed they’re investigating 60 thousand dollars worth of vandalism on city buses.

It says the eight buses in Timberlea had their windows smashed, fire extinguishers emptied, and two of them were set on fire.

It happened early Sunday morning after the buses were parked there on Saturday night.

Eight municipal buses were vandalized in Timberlea on the weekend.

The buses were parked at the Syncrude Athletic Park late Saturday night, and it looks like the windows were smashed sometime early Sunday morning.

Witnesses report seeing the buses being towed out of the park on Sunday morning.

The municipality has confirmed the damage; it’s expected that police will be investigating.
